Benson Campaign Statement on the GOP’s Desperate Attacks Against Jocelyn Benson

After a new poll released last week showing Jocelyn Benson as the gubernatorial frontrunner, Republicans are continuing their baseless attacks against her. Benson campaign manager Nikki Goldschein released the following statement:

“Michiganders are tired of Republican lawmakers wasting time and taxpayer dollars on election conspiracies. Instead of taking up urgently needed legislation on real issues like affordable housing, school funding and literacy investments, the cost of living, and raising wages — they’re falling all over themselves to find ways to continue attacking the frontrunner for Governor by pursuing a senseless impeachment inquiry, because they’re obsessed with getting their hands on materials that could enable them to tamper with election machines and impersonate election clerks. While they continue to make a mockery of voters in Lansing, our campaign will keep stepping up. We’re filling the leadership gap and talking directly with voters about what it will take to make Michigan the best place to be a kid, raise a kid, and call home.”
